Training and SOP Development for DECTRIS ARINA Camera
Our group has completed structured training and the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for using the ARINA camera on the Talos F200X G2 TEM, in collaboration with our engineers. This work establishes repeatable workflows and ensures readiness for rapid, high-quality 4DSTEM data collection.

Milestone Achieved: Our Group Installs DECTRIS ARINA Camera on the TEM at Zhangjiang Institute for Advanced Study
We are pleased to announce a major milestone in our 4D Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (4DSTEM) program. Our group has integrated the DECTRIS ARINA direct electron detector with the Talos F200X G2 transmission electron microscope (TEM) at the Zhangjiang Institute for Advanced Study, following a productive collaboration with Shanghai Jiao Tong University Instrumental Analysis Center (SJTU-IAC).

Dr. Xie's Undergraduate Students Gain Recognition and Media Coverage at Pu Yuan Future Scholars Project Showcase
Three Undergraduate Students Advised by Dr. Xie Present at Pu Yuan Future Scholars Project Showcase. Mao Zi'an and Yang Kunyi concluded the program with their final project presentations, while Zhou Hanzhi provided a mid-term progress update. The Pu Yuan Future Scholars Project selects and supports top undergraduate students at Shanghai Jiao Tong University by offering tailored guidance and financial resources. Its mission is to nurture future pioneers in technological innovation, equipping them with global vision, innovative capabilities, and leadership excellence.

Research Group Dinner to Welcome 2025
To celebrate the arrival of New Year's Day and welcome the promising year of 2025, the research group gathered for a delightful dinner. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to relax, reflect on the achievements of the past year, and look forward to new goals and collaborations in the coming year. We are grateful for the hard work and dedication of every team member and are excited to continue our journey together in 2025. Here's to a bright and successful year ahead!

Gold Award at the China International College Students' Innovation Competition
Dr. Yujun Xie's team, with their project "The World's First Micro-Level Full Life Cycle Failure Analysis Solution for Lithium Batteries," won the National Gold Award in the Industry Track at the Finals of the China International College Students' Innovation Competition (2024). Additionally, another team mentored by Dr. Yujun Xie secured the Bronze Award in the International Track with their project "FALCON - Failure Analysis of Lithium Cells on Nanoscale." The China International College Students' Innovation Competition (2024) was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the Minhang District People's Government serving as co-hosts. The competition attracted participation from 5.14 million projects and 20.836 million participants from 5,406 schools across 153 countries and regions worldwide. This included 12,063 projects and 39,380 participants from 1,993 schools in 149 countries and regions outside of China.

Welcome Dr. Shufen Chu to Xie Lab!
We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Shufen Chu has joined our team. Dr. Chu graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering in 2022. She then conducted postdoctoral research at Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 2022 to 2024. Her main research focus is on utilizing in situ transmission electron microscopy to study the atomic-scale structural evolution of materials. We are excited about the contributions she will bring to our team.
